Sonics brace for 'Superman'

Interesting analogy on Shaq:

"In the painted area, he's Superman," James said. "Outside the painted area, he's Clark Kent. I want to make him stay Clark Kent all night long, but I know Superman is going to show up sooner or later."

Comment on the NBA

Yahoo! Sports

Things have an interesting way of going around in circles. This past summer we saw the best American players bypass the olympics, indicating a new bottom in american nationalism. I predict that in the next 10 years, we'll see more and more international players in the NBA, even bumping many US players off the all star team (case in point, Yao beat out Shaq in both of his NBA seasons). The teams that win the NBA championship will probably have a number of international players. Since there will be less American pride in winning the NBA championship, the players will have to participate more seriously in the World Championships and Olympics. Basketball could be just like baseball and hockey where a number of the best players are all international.
